Mylester's reviews: Rush Hour
by Myles King

( "mylester's reviews" new title sequence )

*cheering and applause*

Me: Hi there! Happy 2016, everybody and welcome to my first review of the new year on "mylester's reviews". I'm your man, Myles King a.k.a. mylesterlucky7. It's great to do this again. Here we are in 2016 with so much events going on like the Summer Olympics in Rio this summer, then end of "Gravity Falls", another president of the United States to do changes for America and also, my 9th year at dA in July. But, today, I would like to start the new year off with a super-bad funny movie from way back in my childhood. This one is "Rush Hour". This movie stars Jackie Chan and funnyman Chris Tucker. Now the other 2 ones were good, but the first one was a kick ass film! You're gonna love it.

This movie came out in 1998. It opens with Detective Lee from Hong Kong raiding a bar to bust a gang of crime guys, led by crime lord Juntao. But, he only finds his right-hand man and he tries to capture him, but he escaped. Fortunately, though, he recovers stolen Chinese treasures and presents it to his supporters, Counsel Han and British Commander Griffin. Lee gives a special gift to Han's daughter, Soo Yung who is preparing to leave for America and Lee told her about what America is. I can see where this might be going.

Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, California, a reckless and delirious named James Carter is going undercover to meet up with Clive on a deal with C4, but the L.A.P.D. cops arrive. Uh-oh! And when the cops try to bust them and Carter tries to diffuse the situation, Clive shoots the cops. Big mistake, buddy! Carter goes after Clive and shoots up the trunk, blowing the car away. And Carter goes up to him saying he's with the L.A.P.D. "You under arrest," he says. You go, boy.

A little while later, when Counsel Han takes up his duties of the diplomatic post, her daughter was on her way to her first day of school. But, Sang kidnapped Soo Young and things are about to get crazy. The FBI informs the counsel about this incident and calls in Lee to assist the case. Also, Carter was tricked into working on the same case for the FBI but he has other plans.

Next up, Carter meets with Detective Lee at the Los Angeles International Airport and he makes sure that Lee speaks English. I feel this could be an interesting partnership. After some sightseeing and a few mishaps along the way in LA, Lee makes it to the embassy, but Carter followed. Soon, the guys are debriefed about the kidnapping and Carter mistakenly got a call from Sang. He says that if Soo Yung should live, the FBI must do as he says. He arranged for a ransom drop to $50 million. Wait a minute... 50 million dollars?! Who the heck he think he kidnapped, Sasha Obama? LOL.

Anyway, the FBI has a couple of hours to try to make a drop while Carter and Lee got help from Carter's colleague, Trina Johnson who tells them to trace the detonator to Clive who was previously arrested by Carter. Clive tells them about the plan. So, the two detectives arrive at a restaurant at an L.A. Chinatown section. But while Carter was trying to find out what the plan is, he got ambushed by some Chinese henchmen. However, Lee comes to the rescue and kicked the bad guys' butts! Go get 'em, dudes! As they manage to escape, the FBI finds them and Carter and Lee gets blamed for ruining the drop and they've been taken off the case. Boo the FBI's ass for blaming them for the mistake!

However, Carter appeals to Johnson and he convinces Lee to help finish the case together, defeat Juntao and save Soo Yung. Carter gives him pep talk about the history of being a cop and risking lives to save some people. Soon, there was a special art exhibition opening at the Los Angeles Convention Center where Carter, Lee and Johnson are dressed up as disguised guests. As Griffin was making a speech, Carter distracts the crowds and gets them to safety. They didn't listen at first, but Carter goes "Did you heard what I just said?! Get yo' s*** and go out the door!" and the crowd complies to be safe. Lee catches Griffin who was the real crime lord and tries to stop them. Meanwhile, Johnson manages to rescue Soo Yung and gets the bomb vest off her with the help of Carter and the confrontation continues.

Carter reaches the top and kills Juntao's henchman telling him, "Wipe yourself off, man. You dead." Ha! You damn right he dead. Meanwhile, Lee and Griffin wear hanging from the top and the money bag was empty when the $100 bills were falling from there. Griffin fell with the vest and died, but Lee was saved by Carter who got a large flag and got him to safety. Boo-yah! Soon, Soo Yung and Han were reunited and Carter and Lee were rewarded to go on vacation in Hong Kong which was a 15-hour flight.

And, there you go. "Rush Hour". That movie was some kinda crazy, funny, awesome action movie I've seen. Even more funny like "Lethal Weapon".

Good things:
- Some scenes were very funny
- Lots of action and fun
- Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker play great roles and make a great team

Bad things:
- Just a few killing scenes that shocked me

My favorite chracters:
- Lee
- Carter
- Johnson
- Counsel Han
- Soo Yung

My least favorite characters:
- Juntao
- The FBI agents setting Carter and Lee up
- Sang

Overall, I give this movie 9 out of 10. Thank you all for tuning in to my first review on "Mylester's reviews". Be sure to join me again next time for some reviews on entertainment. And, in 2016, I will have something special planned for you all. You're gonna like this. Until next time, remember to share your love with one another and keep God first place. He's going to take you places you've never dreamed of. I'm Myles a.k.a. mylesterlucky7. Adieu, everybody.
I begin "Mylester's reviews" for 2016 with a super-fine action/comedy movie "Rush Hour". Enjoy.
